Who We Are
Meet The Wallace Family
We bought the farm in 2004…
Upon taking possession of the house we found an old window dated 1911 and had the name "Maple Grove Farm" painted on it. We thought it was the perfect name for the property since it boasted a beautiful Maple Sugar Bush. In 2010 we started experimenting with strawberries and found that they did very well in our soil. Over the years our strawberry patch has evolved into a large u-pick, with the addition of raspberries and everbearing strawberries. We also grow an assortment of seasonal vegetables, have a small cow/calf operation and cash crops.
Chris and I (Robyn) both have strong ties to the Rosemont area, our grandparents owned and operated farms in the community, as well as our parents. Since moving to the farm, we have welcomed five children, Beth in 2006, Jack in 2008, Isabelle in 2010, Ruby in 2013 and William in 2015. We have been thrilled to have the opportunity to raise our children in the community that we were raised in and give them the same "farm" experiences that we learned from and enjoyed during our own childhoods. Each of the children are involved in the daily happenings of the farm and are often found helping out in the strawberry shed or picking strawberries. We felt strongly about raising our children on a farm because we hope that they will develop a respect for and love of the natural world around them. We also hope by giving them these opportunities to care for and tend to the plants and animals on our farm, they will develop a sense of responsibility and good work ethic.
Thank-you for visiting our page! We look forward to seeing you at the farm.
